August, 20-22, 2014 – The 8th annual conference organized by Unity was held in the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, Seattle, Washington.

The conference was held in Seattle, which is considered to be one of the busiest centers of the world where development of interactive content predominates over the other business activities. Marion Oliver McCaw Hall with its first-class audiences, five-story main lobby and excellent facilities was a perfect place to organize the conference and meeting of this level that welcomed a vibrant Unity development community.

Unite conference is organized to help developers, publishers, studio owners, students and other enthusiasts to come together at one place and get firsthand insight into features and updates of this amazing game/cross-platform engine, as well as share ideas and knowledge.

More than 1300 people from all over the world including 3 programmers from Program-Ace were present at the conference, which is highly appreciated among the community for its high informative value and networking opportunities.

The Speakers

The most awaited speakers of Unite 2014 conference were from RUST Ltd. Owlchemy Labs, Amplitude Studios, Schell Games, Mixamo. Besides our team enjoyed a lot of technical sessions presented by Unity experts.

Conference Program

Our team has stayed in Seattle for 3 days to attend:

  • technical sessions,
  • advanced hands-on class tutorials,
  • previews of upcoming technology,
  • unofficial meetings to network with likeminded geeks.

What We Learned Through UNITE 2014

Program-Ace Unity developers attended Unity Training Day, whose aim was to show the participants how to effectively use the Unity engine. Training program was developed by Will Goldstone and members of Unity Learn group.

Unite Training Day was held at Fisher Pavillion within walking distance of McCaw Hall.

Among other things will learned a lot about the following:

  • Common features of Unity, tips and tricks of using the engine
  • Communication between the scripts
  • Comparison of public and private links in programming
  • Static variables
  • Vector mathematics for game mechanics
  • Use of timer
  • Use of various camera settings
  • Creation of game objects at program execution
  • Use of Animator for generic characters
  • Animation effects
  • Easy use of audio
  • Easy use of new user interface
  • Use of Prefab objects
  • Use of effects such as Line Renderers and Particle Systems
  • Use of Nav Mesh for enemy characters


Constant improvement of our skill level including both theoretical and practical knowledge is what we are striving for. Attendance of such conferences is a perfect chance to learn new, broaden horizons and widen programming knowledge, meet extraordinary people and showcase our own abilities while taking part in interactive classes.
