Overview
Program-Ace joined World of Haiku as a dedicated team to refine their Steam cybersecurity training game, rebuilding scene loading and the UI for performance, adding save and network-snapshot tools, and building an in-game web browser so learning content sits inside the game.
The challenge
The game arrived with evolving scope and shifting requirements, so the work needed tight communication with the product owner and a steady focus on performance, especially load times, while new features were added without destabilizing what already worked.
What we built
Program-Ace refactored the core systems and added the tooling the game lacked.
A cleaner, more intuitive UI.
Load-scene refactoring for faster, smoother loading.
A popup manager for in-game notifications.
Game state saving and network snapshot tools.

Technology and approach
How we built it
Working in Unity and C# on Steam, the team refactored scene loading to cut wait times, added save and network-snapshot tooling for stability, and built an in-game browser from HTML and UI components, with RESTful APIs connecting the game to the third-party services the training content relies on.
