Program-Ace built a fully interactive 3D oil platform simulator so an oil and gas company could train offshore staff, rehearse operations, and practice emergency evacuation safely, with measurable gains in safety and onboarding.
The challenge
The client needed to onboard new offshore staff faster, optimize operational processes, and run interactive emergency-evacuation training to reduce injuries, all for an environment that is dangerous and expensive to train in for real.

How we built it
Built on the Ace3D engine in C++ with OpenGL rendering and a Microsoft SQL Server back end, the simulator reproduces offshore operations and emergencies in a configurable 3D environment, with an onsite client representative guiding accuracy throughout development.
