Our CTO Denis Potapenko spoke about the important role the Metaverse plays in professional training & simulation.

On Wednesday, October 27, Energy 4.0 - Digital Transformation Technology Expo & Conference kicked off, and we are proud to say that our CTO - Denis Potapenko was one of the keynote speakers.

This conference was hosted by NRG Events, an agency based in Spain that organizes business forums in the energy industry and related sectors, and brings together business leaders from all around the globe. This particular event was dedicated to digital transformation – a process of improving business processes with innovative technologies (such as XR, machine learning, digital twins, etc.).

Due to pandemic-related restrictions, the event had to be held as a virtual 3D experience, but it was still quite insightful and a lot of fun. Each attendee had a digital avatar, and could freely visit the rooms where particular presentations were taking place and share their thoughts and questions directly with other members.

The topic of our presentation was “How Metaverse is revolutionizing training and simulation”. As you might know, the Metaverse is a theoretical concept of a world where we do many of our daily activities (work, shopping, entertainment, etc.) in a virtual platform where every person and business is represented digitally and users can interact and jump between activities seamlessly.

While the Metaverse has yet to be implemented on a global scale (which companies like Meta are working on), its implementation within the confines of a business is already possible and quite beneficial. Denis spoke about how many businesses already have their own ecosystems of connected applications, and how they can add training software to create a more complete mini-Metaverse.
