On November 5, 2017, another Game Developer Conference organized by Doctrina IT School took place in Fabrika.space in the downtown of Kharkiv, Ukraine. Program-Ace, an R&D company that enjoys educating young minds, was the main sponsor and featured speaker at the event. Doctrina IT School invited our professionals to share their knowledge and experience in game design, development, porting, and innovative technologies. Our speakers were wearing black T-shirts with Game-Ace's logo on it, our in-house game development division. Moreover, our company brought an entertaining element to the conference by demonstrating HoloLens. Yuri Sysoev, our Product Manager and acting Head of Art Department, talked about the ways of increasing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of your game with the help of App Store Optimization. He explained the main tricks of ASO that facilitates the game's performance and attract new players. Yuri's speech was focused not only on theoretical knowledge but the practical examples as well. Rodion Baskakov, a Game Designer at Program-Ace, explained the basics of reverse engineering. His speech was mainly focused on the conception of reverse engineering, its types, and how to make reverse engineering easier and less costly. Rodion's speech had a lot of best practices and techniques and powerful examples of reverse engineering. Alexey Zaiarnyi, a Unity Developer at Program-Ace, presented a speech about how our company ported a Flash-based farm game with the help of Unity. He explained how the team adapted and changed the UI elements and even showed examples of code that could be inserted into Unity editor in order to facilitate the development. In the entertaining area, the Program-Ace team demonstrated the capacities of Microsoft HoloLens and taught the audience gestures and voice commands that allows for controlling the device. This huge educational event conducted yearly by one Kharkiv's largest IT schools is an excellent platform and knowledge base for young developers, designers, digital artists, and managers that help them learn latest industry innovations and polish their skills.
