With this application, you can take pictures or videos with all the variety of fancy effects related to Japanese culture such as samurai, sushi, fish, tempura, etc., and share it with your friends on social media. The mission of the application is to promote the export and adoption of Japanese food and food culture. For that particular purpose, the hashtags #TasteOfJapan and #OishiiAiREating were created to help with the promotion movement.

When building the OishiiAiREating application, Program-Ace had to make sure the application is user-friendly and optimized for different cultures and mindsets. The app was translated into 4 languages including English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Russian to ensure maximum usability.

App compilation

As the application involved different development teams and 3d-parties that were responsible for motion graphics and animated effects, it was Program-Ace’s responsibility to make all the part seamlessly work together combining it with smooth facial tracking technology.

Marketing Effectiveness

One of the major points of the application is to promote Japanese food and food culture, so our team of designers ensured the social buttons to be integrated within the application. The moment you take a picture, you are able to share the screen across multiple social media channels with your friends.

Approach and Solution

The main technology of the application uses facial recognition and tracking system which was seamlessly implemented by our experienced developers. One of the most common challenges when utilizing a facial tracking system was getting a stable picture that makes it comfortable for a user to take pictures and make videos using filters under different light and in different environments.

The camera filters include numerous filters of six types of food as well as several filters of frames reflection Japanese culture and atmosphere. Also, the OishiiAiREating application includes several motion graphics and effects such as dancing shrimp character, cherry blossom petals, and other animations triggered by a specific user gesture or move.

Combining a whole variety of different filters and facial modification such as hats, glasses, steam, fire, etc., with a cute, funny, manga-like interface, users are able to not only have a lot of fun using the application but also to contribute to the main mission of the application which is the marketing and promotion.
