Overview

Program-Ace built one of Singapore top 3D-visualization companies an interactive app that turns BIM documentation into a navigable 3D building, with overview, floor-section, semi-transparent, and first-person views, plus measurement and time-of-day tools.

The challenge

The app had to stay intuitive for users of very different technical skill, reproduce a building faithfully from BIM documentation, and be engineered for portability so the same project could later run on mobile and in VR.

The solution

Program-Ace built a multi-view, navigable building with engineering-grade tools.

A 45-degree building overview with free camera movement.
Floor sections and a semi-transparent view to highlight systems.
A first-person 3D tour with chosen viewpoints and camera paths.
A distance-measurement tool and floor-plan compass navigation.
Time-of-day control and per-object asset information.
Technology and approach

How we built it

Built in Unreal Engine and C++ on the Windows SDK, with assets authored in 3ds Max and Maya, the app reconstructs the building from BIM data and exposes engineering-grade tools, measurement, sectioning, and time-of-day, on an architecture designed from the start to port to mobile and VR.
